20 PARTIES TO SHUN JONATHAN'S POLITICAL SUMMIT!

About 20 political parties under the aegis of Inter-Party Advisory Council have dissociated themselves from the summit of political parties convened by the Office of the Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Inter- Party Affairs.
The summit is to discuss certain national issues with regards to preparations by the Independent National Electoral Commission and other stakeholders for the Ekiti and Osun states governorship polls and the 2015 general elections.
IPAC in a communique issued on Wednesday by its National Chairman, Dr.Yunusa Tanko, and Publicity Secretary, Chief Sam Eke, after an emergency meeting in Abuja, said it was disappointed and shocked by the sudden letter of invitation for a political parties summit scheduled to hold on June 12, 2014 without any consultation with members.
While describing the action as tantamount to “shaving our hairs in our absence”, the organisation informed all its members that the earlier planned All Nigerian Political Parties summit “shall hold on June 9, 2014 not June 12, 2014 as “speculated by Special Adviser to the President on Inter- Party Affairs.”
The communique read, “IPAC disassociates itself from the political summit planned solely by the Special Adviser to the President on Inter- Party Affairs. We can no longer accept to be passengers in our own political process but shall remain the major drivers we are in all political process.
“IPAC is still injured by our deliberate exclusion from the on-going constitutional conference by the Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan- led administration which is tantamount to deregistering of political parties. Chibok girls should be released by their Boko Haram abductors unconditionally.”
