EFCC CHAIRMAN :"HOW SOME RICH NIGERIANS BUY PRIVATE JETS WITH ILLEGAL FUNDS "!

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Lamordehas expressed concern over how some richNigerians acquire their private jets. According to him, some of the funds used may have been acquired from proceeds of corruption.
Lamorde revealed this during a question and answer interactive session at the ongoing Fourth Commonwealth Regional Conference for Heads of Anti-Corruption Agencies in Africa inAccra.
In his words, Lamorde said: “Over 70 per cent of private jets in Nigeria are registered in Mauritius. It is believed that parts of the proceeds of crime were used to procure these jets. But we are unable to deal with them. Mauritius has not been forthcoming with information whenever we make requests to them."
