HERE COMES THE WORLD'S FIRST HIP-HOP BILLIONAIRE! ‎

Rumours aside, American hip hop legend, Dr. Dre, is set to become the first billionaire in hip hop. This comes as Apple Electronics announced that it has acquired Dr Dre’s Beats Electronics for $3bn. Forbes says Apple paid the artiste $2.6n cash up-front and another $400m in stock that will vest over time. The $3bn purchase price covers Beats Music, the sister company that runs a subscription streaming music service. As part of the deal, Beats co-founders, Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine, will join Apple in undisclosed roles.
