CRISIS IN ASSEMBLIES OF GOD WORSENS!

The lingering crisis in the Assemblies of God Church Nigeria has taken a new turn with the faction loyal to the Assistant General Superintendent, Rev. Chidi Okoroafor having a faceoff with the faction of the embattled General Superintendent of the church, Rev. Paul Emeka.

Recall Emeka is currently facing issues over allegations of lack of accountability and conspiracy.

The said meeting, which was to be hosted by the District Pastor-in-charge of Isiagu street branch of the church, Pastor Isaac Ochu (anti-Emeka faction), was opposed by some of the leaders in the branch. Ochu reportedly ignored them and convened the meeting, but unknown to him, those who opposed the meeting had mobilized their members from other branches to barricade the church entrances.

It was while the participants who were mostly pastors from other branches in the state arrived that they met a stiff resistance from the pro-Emeka group and this led to a big fight. The anti-Emeka members had to run for their lives and they later moved to an undisclosed place in Trans-Ekulu to hold the meeting. However, the pro-Emeka group remained at the church premises until yesterday evening but declined to speak with journalists.
