HOW ARISEKOLA ALAO DIED FEW HOURS TO HIS RETURN TO NIGERIA! Corpse Arrives Nigeria Today For Burial Tomorrow!

Billionaire businessman, Aare Abdul-Azeez Arisekola Alao, who was until his death the Deputy President General of Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, died in his sleep in London at 1.30pm on Wednesday, 19th June 2014. He was billed to return to Nigeria a few hours before his death. His remains will be brought to the country today and the burial will take place tomorrow. In his honour, the Oyo State Government has declared Friday a public holiday, while it declared 7 days of mourning, during which flags will fly at half-mast.

The highly-successful Islamic leader, industrialist, and philanthropist, was said to have left Nigeria for medical check-up in London, England, last week Thursday. Having gone for the check-up yesterday(Wednesday) morning, he had to rest and it was from there he passed on. The late Arisekola Alao was said to have called one of his personal assistants in Ibadan in the early hours of Wednesday to prepare his cars for his arrival later in the day.

Soon as the news filtered into the ancient city of Ibadan, his Bodija residence became ever busy as Nigerians, rich and poor, trooped in to express their shock. Due to the influx of people, Alhaji Lateef Oyelade ordered that the main building be put under lock and key, which was immediately adhered to. As sympathizers were still discussing this news, a truck loaded with goodies meant to be distributed at the commencement of 2014 Ramadan drove in, and this caused more tears for those around the gate. The Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Alhaji Muhydeen Bello, held a brief exhortation for the people around the house.

Early callers at late Arisekola Alao’s house yesterday include Oyo State Governor Senator Abiola Ajimobi and his wife, Florence, his deputy Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo, Speaker House of Assembly, Honourable Monsurat Sunmmonu and some lawmakers, Head of Service Alhaji Tajudeen Aremu, SSG, Local Government caretaker chairmen, Oloye Lekan Alabi, Alhaji Rasheed Adesokan, former deputy Governor Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi and Alhaji Akewugba Gold, among others.
