The University of Lagos (UNILAG), a Federal Government University in Lagos, Lagos State, southern Nigeria, has remained one of the best and renowned in the country. SENIOR LECTURER (THEATRE ARTS ,VISUAL ARTS, MUSIC)

DESCRIPTION
A candidate for this post should normally possess a good first degree and a doctorate degree in the respective field from a recognized University with at least five (5) years of teaching and research experience since becoming a Lecturer II in a University or comparable institution of higher learning. Candidate must possess evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals and ability to supervise post-graduate students including doctorate students in areas of expertise.

Areas of Spe…ation Theatre Arts:
Arts of the Theatre, Technical Theatre, Theatre Management and Administration, Media Arts, Dramatic Literature and Criticism, Dance and Choreography.

Areas of Spe…ation for Visual Arts:
Candidate must show a strong commitment to studio art production in ceramics, sculpture or graphics.

Areas of Spe…ation for Music:
Composition,Theory, Musicology,Performance,Music Psychology.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must have been a Lecturer I for a minimum of three years

LECTURER I (THEATRE ARTS , MUSIC)

DESCRIPTION
A candidate for this post should normally possess a good first degree and a doctorate degree in the respective field from a recognized University with at least four (4) years of teaching and research experience since becoming a Lecturer II in a University or comparable institution of higher learning.
Candidate must also have ability to teach courses at the undergraduate level with evidence of practical skills and competence.
Candidate must also have the ability to teach courses at the undergraduate level with evidence of practical skills and competence.
Evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals is also required in addition to ability to supervise post-graduate students in areas of expertise.

Area of Spe…ation for Theatre Arts:

LECTURER II (THEATRE ARTS, VISUAL ARTS, MUSIC)

Technical Theatre (Theatre Design and Technology), Dance, Theatre Administration and Management, Arts of Theatre(Acting, Directing and Playwriting),Dramatic Theory and Criticism, Theatre and Film Studies.

Areas of Spe…ation for Visual Arts:
Candidate must show a strong commitment to studio art production in painting,ceramics, sculpture,textiles,metal design/jewelry or graphics. Other areas of interest are: art history and art education.

Areas of Spe…ation for Music:
Composition,Theory, Musicology,Performance,Music Psychology.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Recognised publications in Theatre Arts, Visual Arts or Music will be an added advantage.

PROFESSOR (RUSSIAN LANGUAGE/ LITERATURE)

DESCRIPTION
Candidate for this post should normally possess a good first degree and a doctorate degree in Russian Language or Russian Literature with not less than ten (10) years of teaching and research experience since becoming a Lecturer II in a University or comparable institution of higher learning.
A strong proof of continuing research with appreciable evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals published both locally and internationally is required in addition to evidence of ability to supervise post-graduate students including doctorate students in areas of expertise.

Area of Spe…ation:
Russian Phonetics/Phonology, Sociolinguistics, Discourse Analysis, Russian/African Poetry, Literary Theory and Dramatic Literature in Russian, Novel.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must also have sufficient administrative experience and must have been an Associate Professor for a minimum of three (3) years.
He/She must have ability to provide academic leadership.
Candidates who have been Senior Lecturers for a minimum of six (6) years may be considered for appointment.

PROFESSOR (FRENCH LITERATURE)

DESCRIPTION
A candidate for this post should normally possess a good first degree and a doctorate degree in French Literature with not less than ten (10) years of teaching and research experience since becoming a Lecturer II in a University or comparable institution of higher learning.
A strong proof of continuing research with appreciable evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals published both locally and internationally is required in addition to evidence of ability to supervise post-graduate students including doctorate students in areas of expertise.

Area of Spe…ation:
Spe…ation in 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th Centuries French Literature, French/African Poetry, Literary Theory and Dramatic Literature in French, Novel.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
A candidate must also have sufficient administrative experience and must have been an Associate Professor for a minimum of three (3) years.
He/She must have ability to provide academic leadership.
Candidates who have been Senior Lecturers for a minimum of six (6) years may be considered for appointment.

SENIOR LECTURER (FRENCH LANGUAGE, FRENCH LITERATURE)

DESCRIPTION
A candidate for this post should normally possess a good first degree and a doctorate degree in French Language or French Literature from a recognized University with at least Five (5) years of teaching and research experience since becoming a Lecturer II in a University or comparable institution of higher learning.

Area of Spe…ation for French Language:
French Phonetics/Phonology, Sociolinguistics, Discourse Analysis, Syntax.

Areas of Spe…ation for French Literature:
French Poetry, Literary Theory and Dramatic Literature in French ,Novel.

Candidates for this post should normally possess a good first degree plus a master’s degree in History from any recognised University and must have registered for the Ph.D. programme.

History and Strategic Studies.

Professor (Linguistics/Yoruba, Linguistics/Igbo, Linguistics/Chinese)

DESCRIPTION
Candidates for this post should normally possess a good first degree and a doctorate degree in the respective field from a recognized University with not less than ten (10) years of teaching and research experience since becoming a Lecturer II in a University or comparable institution of higher learning.
