DISASTER AVERTED AT KANO AIRPORT AS 90 PASSENGERS ESCAPE DEATH!

Ninety passengers aboard a Boeing 747 Turkish Airlines plane at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport on Tuesday night (around 10:45pm) cheated death and were evacuated unhurt after a fuel tanker caught fire near the plane.

The aircraft, which landed from Istanbul, Turkey, with Kano and Ndjamena passengers, was to return to Istanbul when the incident occurred.

The timely intervention of men of Fire Service Department of the airport saved the day as they battled the inferno for over an hour.

According to reports, fire service men mobilised and pushed off the aircraft away from the trouble spot before concentrating on extinguishing the inferno, while the passengers were hurriedly disembarked into a waiting bus that conveyed them to an unnamed five-star hotel in the city.
