The tragic incident took place at Redemption Camp along Lagos Ibadan expressway last Tuesday in the early hours. The body of the late lawyer was seen and recovered in a nearby bush at Canaan Land Street in the RCCG Camp, in a box, after he had been killed by his son.
According to the undergraduate of the Department of History and International Relations of Redeemer University, his dad had gone on evangelism before he eventually confessed to the crime when he was taken to the Redemption Camp Police Divisional Headquarters.
He stated that the problem started when his late father confronted him and slapped him for not responding to all the prayer points he (the deceased) raised. He said he went mad and went straight to the kitchen to pick up a knife to stab him and later a cutlass to cut his throat.
The exhibits which were recovered from him include the knife and cutlass he used, while the corpse of the late lawyer has been deposited at a morgue in Sagamu. The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Ikemefuna Okoye has sent a powerful team of detectives led by the officer in charge of Homicide section of the Department of Criminal Investigation, Eleweran Abeokuta to continue further investigation.
