IMPEACHED ADAMAWA GOVERNOR, MURTALA NYAKO, TO BE QUIZZED BY EFCC!

Following his impeachment yesterday by members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, there are indications that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is planning to arrest Murtala Nyako over alleged misappropriation of the state funds. There are reports that EFCC operatives have been deployed to Yola and Abuja to locate and pick up the embattled ex-governor for questioning.

Recall in June 2014, EFCC froze Adamawa State government accounts to determine the level of fraud involved in the finances of the state.This action was taken as a precautionary measure to safeguard the state treasury. Senior government officials recently questioned by the EFCC include the Secretary to the State Government, Finance Commissioner, former Commissioner for Local Government ( now Commissioner for Higher Education), the Accountant General of the State and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Local Government.
