There was pandemonium yesterday morning at the mortuary of Mother of Christ Specialist Hospital in Enugu when it was discovered that the corpse of Chief Theodore Ezeobi, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), who died about 4 months ago, had been stolen. Before now, family members of the deceased had been embattled in a crisis which pitched the first son, Theodore (Jnr), against his mother and other siblings. This running battle had been on in the pages of newspapers with advertorials over the funeral date which Theodore (Jnr) had fixed for July 31.
This was disowned in another advertorial signed by the deceased’s daughter, Chinelo Ezeobi, who said the public should disregard the publication as the correct information for the burial would be made public at the right time. The news of the stolen corpse was disclosed by Chinelo Ezeobi who claimed on their (family members) arrival at the mortuary yesterday, they realized the mortuary had been broken into while the corpse was taken away. The Enugu State Police Command has taken up the case which is currently being investigated.
