The late Dr. Stella Shade Ameyo Adadevoh was a 58-year-old endocrinologist at the First Consultant Hospital in Obalende, Lagos. She was the most senior of the medical team that attended to late Patrick Sawyer.Adadevoh showed symptoms of Ebola virus a few days after Sawyer died and had been in isolation in Yaba, Lagos where she was being treated. Last week, concerned Nigerians raised an alarm when her condition was deteriorating, and for the procurement from the United States of the ZMapp experimental drug.

The late Dr. Adadevoh was the first grandchild of Mrs Sarah Idowu Abigail Adadevoh nee Macaulay, making her a great granddaughter of the late nationalist Herbert Macaulay described as the founder of Nigerian nationalism. Her father was Prof. Babatunde Kwaku Adadevoh, who was a grandson of Herbert Macaulay. He was also a physician.

According to Family Tree, they have 6 children – Kwame Adadevoh, Kwaku Adadevoh, Stella Shade Ameyo Adadevoh, Charity Ronke Awoyo Adadevoh, Kowu Adadevoh and Awushi Adadevoh. The brave and selfless late Dr. Stella Shade Ameyo Adadevoh is survived by her husband and 1 child.
