Governor Umaru Al-Makura of Nasarawa State on Monday morning appeared before the seven-member panel set up by the Chief Judge, Suleiman Dikko. The panel is investigating the 16-count charges of impeachment levelled against him by the State Assembly.
Mr. Al-Makura, who arrived the sitting at about 9.12 a.m. waited for over 30 minutes for the panel members headed by Yusuf Usman to arrive.
The governor arrived with a large entourage of political appointees and a member of the state assembly representing Keffi-East, Othman Bala Adam (All Progressives Congress, APC).
Twenty (Peoples Democratic Party members) of the 24-member Assembly are believed to be in support of the impeachment of Mr. Al-Makura, who is a member of the APC.
