'THE LINK BETWEEN BOKO HARAM AND ISLAMIC STATE (ISIS)'

Following Boko Haram’s leader, Abubakar Shekau’s declaration of an Islamic caliphate in Gwoza town in Borno state in a 52-minute video obtained by AFP where he said, “Thanks be to Allah who gave victory to our brethren in (the town of) Gwoza and made it part of the Islamic caliphate.By the grace of Allah we will not leave the town. We have come to stay.It has nothing to do with Nigeria”,eyebrows have been raised at the terror being unleashed by the insurgents.

A recent revelation by Ahmad Sakida, journalist-cum-Import/Export Agent, has revealed a link between Boko Haram(BH) and Islamic State of Iraq and Syria(ISIS). In a series of tweets on Tuesday, 26th August 2014, Sakida tweeted that: “What we seem to be missing is; two months ago Shekau offered Bai’ah(a pledge of obedience) to Bagdadi’s IS, giving Bagdadi unconditional obedience.Then Shekau declared Gwoza as capital of a new Islamic territory & did not renege on BH’s Bai’ah, making it a subsection of IS global agenda.In as much as we do not agree wt IS/BH, there is a new craze by youths in the Muslim world & in Europe especially to join the global Jihadi movement.”
