Barely a week after a church collapsed in Benin City, another, Liberty Power Bible Church a.k.a Power Palace, on Sunday, collapsed in the ancient city. Nobody died in Sunday afternoon’s collapse as service had ended and no church member was inside when the building collapsed at about 1:45p.m.Going by reports, the church building, which was still under construction, fell on another building. The owner of the building which the church collapsed on said, “The storm that accompanied the rain was much but I have been complaining about the building structure. I had to call the police.
The building had already cracked and I have been warning the pastor that the building would collapse. The pastor built the church like a fence as there were no pillars. The blocks were just ordinary sand. I have been telling him that without pillars, the building would collapse. The building fell on my building and damaged many things. I thanked God that nobody died. When the pastor came, he was concerned about the musical instrument in his church and thanking God that his church members were not around when the building fell.”
