ROYAL TUSSLE IN EKITI TOWN DIVIDES 2 SISTERS!

The demise of Ogoga Ikere Ekiti, Oba Samuel Adegoke Adegboye has divided his family after his 41-year-old daughter Princess Ayooye Adegboye Oyinlola emerged the new regent as against her eldest sister, Princess (Mrs.) Adebisi Bello who by tradition is meant to be the regent. Recall the stool became vacant on 22nd August 2014 after their late father passed away having ruled for 43 years as the longest-serving Ogoga in the kingdom. The emergence of Oba Ayooye (a teacher at Ado Grammar School, Ado Ekiti), who is the fourth child in the family, is said to have had the kingmakers’ nod as 5 of them declared her the community’s regent.

The eldest daughter, Princess Bello, a director in Radio Nigeria, was however backed by some chiefs and 1 kingmaker, Chief Michael Shittu, the Sapetu of Ikere Ekiti who is presently on suspension as he was sacked by the late monarch 15 years ago over his alleged failure to perform his traditional duties as demanded by custom. In a related development, the first son of the monarch, Magistrate Adegboye, has condemned the action of the eldest daughter. Efforts are currently being made to reconcile Princess (Mrs.) Adebisi Bello with other members of the family.
