HIS PARENTS ARE PROPHET AND PROPHETESS
Gov. Fayose is from a staunch Christian home. His parents are late Pastor Oluwafemi Oluwayose and Prophetess Victoria Olufunke Oluwayose. So also was his late sister, Bimpe Sorinolu who was popular for praying and delivering mad people from the streets. There are strong views that Fayose’s return to power might not be out of place to be referred to as a covenant with the family.
HIS WIFE IS ALSO A PROPHETESS
His amiable wife, Feyisetan is a prophetess. It is on record that she is the first person who predicted his return to power. Interesting, during his inauguration, Fayose told the mammoth crowd that his wife is the only person he knows who prays for Ekiti State every day.
The OCTOBER 16 MYTH
Gov. Fayose obviously has a date with October 16. He was impeached on October 16, 2006, and exactly 8 years later, he was sworn in as Governor again, that is on October 16, 2014 making it exactly 8 years after he was sacked from the government house.
HE DEFEATED 2 INCUMBENT GOVERNORS
Gov. Ayo Fayose has become an enigma by defeating 2 incumbent Governors at different times. He defeated Ex-Dr. Adeniyi Adebayo in 2003 and Dr. Kayode Fayemi in June 2014.  With this feat, he made history as Nigeria’s first politician to defeat 2 incumbent for the same office twice.
HE WON IN ALL THE 16 LGAs
Fayose has raised the bar in the politics of Ekiti State, and by extension Nigeria through his landslide victory in the June 2014 guber election. He defeated Gov Fayemi and other aspirants in all the 16 Local Government Areas of the state.
HE DEFEATED 13 OTHER ASPIRANTS TO WIN PDP TICKET
Fayose earlier in the year emerged victorious at the PDP governorship Primaries with 462 votes. His victory was unprecedented. He defeated 13 other party members including former Police Affairs Minister, Navy Captain Celeb Olubolade, Minister of State for Works, Prince Dayo Adeyeye and Mrs Ogundipe for the slot. 477 ballot papers  were utilized. Mrs. Ogundipe scored 1 vote; Olubolade, 7 votes; Adeyeye, 3 votes and Fayose, 462 votes while 4 of the votes were voided. Though all the contestants protested against the emergence of Fayose but his victory was upheld by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.
ALL PDP ASPIRANTS AGAINST FAYOSE SUPPORTED HIM AGAINST Fayemi
Another thing which happened to Gov. Fayose which was out of the ordinary was that all the aspirants who contested against him at the primaries supported him against Gov. Fayemi. They include, ex-Police Affairs Minister, Navy Captain Caleb Olubolade, Minister of State for Works, Prince Dayo Adeyeye and Mrs Ogundipe. Others are  Ambassador Dare Bejide, Mrs. Cecilia Dada, Mr. Bodunde Adeyanju, Senator Gbenga Aluko,  Chief Abiodun Aluko, Chief Ropo Ogunbolude; Mr. Deji Ajayi, Peter Obafemi; Wale Aribisala.
FAYOSE PREDICTED HIS OWN VICTORY
Immediately after his victory in the primaries, Fayose while expressing his happiness had predicted his victory. His words, “The election is winnable and if they join hands with me, it will make it easier. I assure you and promise them before man and God and before the people of Ekiti State that nobody will be victimised, nobody will be fought or oppressed. I am a better person. I understand  the game better and I will do the needful with all of them. I will work with them. They should give me the opportunity. All that is important is a win.” His words for the then Governor, Kayode Fayemi were, “You know who you fear, you know your headache and you know where the shoe pinches. They know who has emerged. They know the difference. “They know what I stand for and they know that this is the beginning of the end of Fayemi’s  administration in Ekiti State. I brought Fayemi to government, I gave him the support and I am the man that will take him out. I will be the man that brought Fayemi and I will be the man that will take him back to where I brought him from, by the grace of God.”
HIS EMERGENCE WAS MYSTERIOUS
The emergence of Fayose despite all the issues that surrounded the primaries is still a mystery to a lot of political observers. Initially, Fayose was not listed as a top contender for the post. All of a sudden, he joined the race, got the support of the PDP National Chairman and President Goodluck Jonathan.
HE WAS THE LEAST QUALIFIED OF THE CANDIDATES
Interestingly, Gov. Fayose was painted as the most unqualified candidate in the race. In fact, Gov. Fayose was burdened with several court cases which were expected to throw spanners in the wheels of  his gubernatorial ambition.
LABELLED AS THE MOST CONTROVERSIAL EKITI POLITICIAN
The opposition practically succeeded in labeling Gov. Fayose as a controversial politician. All these did not stop the electorates from voting for and supporting him to victory.
ALL The GOVERNORS HE DEFEATED UNDERRATED HIM
A view into Fayose;s political career reveal that he has always been underrated and not respected by the governors he has defeated out of office. This was the situation when he defeated Ex-Gov. Adeniyi Adebayo and same with Ex-Governor Fayemi.
HE DIDN’T HAVE ENOUGH FUNDS TO FIGHT THE INCUMBENT
Though he didn’t have enough funds to battle the incumbent, the man who has labeled himself as the Architect of Modern Ekiti and also popular for his ‘Stomach Infrastructure’ initiative gave all he had to his ambition, and his victory at the polls was overwhelming.
HE DEFEATED ALL FORMER GOVERNORS OF EKITI STATE
Not only that Fayose demystified the theory of power of incumbency when he defeated Fayemi. The then  ruling party in the state,  APC also had former Governors, Adeniyi Adebayo and Segun Oni supporting Gov. Fayemi. Fayose won Ekiti election in a landslides fashion. He defeated the former Governors and their supporters.
