CITY PEOPLE SET TO HOST HRH IGWE (PROF.) LAZ EKWUEME

Foremost musicologist, composer, scholar, and pioneer lecturer of music in Nigeria, His Royal Highness Igwe Professor Laz Edward Nnanyelu Ekwueme, CON, NNOM will be honoured alongside his chorale, the Laz Ekwueme Chorale on Tuesday, 21st October 2014 by 11am. The event is the 40th anniversary of Laz Ekwueme Chorale. The symposium, themed ‘Laz Ekwueme & 40 Years Of Classical Choral Music In Nigeria’, chairman of the day is His Majesty Eze Prof Chukwuemeka Ike, OFR, NNOM.

Guest speakers are Professor Duro Oni( Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Management Services, University of Lagos); Professor(Mrs) Lucy Ekwueme(Department of Languages/Linguistic/Literary Studies, Federal University, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State); Professor Anthony Mereni(Department of Creative Arts, Music Unit,University of Lagos). Moderator is Mrs. Ngozi Oguguah, Senior Research Officer, Nigerian Institute of Oceanography and Marine Research (NIOMR), Victoria Island-Lagos.
