The palace of Oba Mufutau Akindele in Ilupeju Oke-Odo, Gbagura, in Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State has been razed by fire. The palace was burnt to ashes on Wednesday, destroying all valuables, royal apparels and insignias. Though the cause of the fire has not be ascertained, the king said the restoration of electricity to the community at midnight might have caused an electrical surge that snowballed into the inferno.
