RESIGNATION: PRESIDENCY REPLIES ASIWAJU BOLA TINUBU

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs Doyin Okupe has reacted to a statement yesterday by APC National Leader, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, calling on President Goodluck Jonathan to resign from office owing to the current security challenges. Okupe described as unfounded and lacking in historical precedence Tinubu’s assertion at a political rally in Ilorin, Kwara State on Wednesday that were Nigeria a civilised society, Jonathan should have resigned. Okupe said calling for Jonathan’s resignation due to insurgency was the height of “insensitive, indecorous and bad politics which ought to be roundly condemned by every patriotic Nigerian.”
