The death has been announced of Michael Anyiam-Osigwe, one of the sons of late Igbo billionaire Chief Anyiam Osigwe. He was shot dead by armed robbers while on a trip. One of those badly hit by Michael’s death is Tunji Lardner who took to his Twitter late last night to talk about this monumental loss. According to his tweets,” Just heard about the loss of my brother Michael Anyiam wantonly killed by armed robbers.Numbed with shock. Alas just another statistic. On killing Michael Anyiam-Osigwe they have burnt down a library filled with love, wisdom and compassion. RIP Mike we love you forever!”
Nze Michael Anyiam-Osigwe was in his lifetime the Coordinator of the Anyiam-Osigwe Group and Secretary to the Supervisory Board. He studied economics and went on to obtain a Masters Degree in Social Anthropology and Ethnomusicology from Goldsmiths College, University of London.Under employment with Tsakos-Pedmacgrek Shipping JV, 1986-90 he acquired both training and experience in Ship Management and Operations. He was a member of the IBIA (International Bunker Industry Association) and benefited from various international seminars and workshops on shipping and marine operations. Nze Anyiam-Osigwe was the Director of Operations for M. D.Yusufu’s Presidential Campaign in 1998
