Few days after Lagos APC guber primaries was held and one of the aspirants Akin Ambode came out tops, fresh facts have emerged to show how many opposition forces were ranged against his chances. Up until the beginning of last week, Ambode was the aspirant tipped to win the primaries with minimal opposition, but by the morning of Monday 1st of December when Nigerian newspaper readers woke up to see wrap arounds of another aspirant Olasupo Shasore (SAN) in 4 national daily newspapers it was clear that the supremacy of Ambode in the race was being challenged.
The 4 page wrap-around was in ThisDay, Punch, Vanguard and Guardian Newspaper respectively.
And unconfirmed rumours had it that these sponsored adverts must have cost close to N100 million to get the Management of the various papers to clear their front page and 3 choice pages-inside front, outside back, and inside back pages. Earlier, the APC leadership had cleared 12 Lagos APC aspirants for the primaries. The party cleared Lagos Commissioner, Femi Kadiri Hamzat, the Senate Minority Whip, Ganiyu Solomon, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji, former Accountant-General, Akinwunmi Ambode and former Commissioner for Health, Leke Pitan.
