OGUN 2015: SEGUN OSOBA, GBENGA DANIEL IN SECRET MEETING


Two former governors of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba and his successor in office, Chief Gbenga Daniel, on Monday night, held a secret meeting at Osoba’s Abeokuta country home located within the Ibara Government Reservation Area. Though details of the meeting are yet to be disclosed, going by reports, the meeting might not be unconnected with the 2015 general election. Osoba is the leader of the Social Democratic Party(SDP) while Daniel is a leader in the PDP.

Present at a meeting earlier held on Monday afternoon were some of Daniel’s loyalists: PDP governorship aspirant and former Commissioner for Environment under Daniel’s administration, Chief Anthony Ojesina; former PDP chairman in the state, Elder Joju Fadairo; PDP chieftain, Chief Niyi Adegbenro. In another development, this Friday, 2nd January 2015, thousands of aggrieved members of PDP from the Jubril Martins-Kuye, Dimeji Bankole and Daniel’s groups are expected to defect to SDP.
