It is no longer news that the strong man of Ogun politics, Prince Buruji Kashamu is running for a Senate seat. Already, his posters, banners and flexis’ are all over Ogun East. He wants to be the next Ogun East Senator. He wants to take over from Senator Gbenga Kaka, his kinsman, from Ijebu Igbo. Last Tuesday, Buruji who has been locked in a bitter war with ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo stormed Ijebu-Ode, as part of his ongoing campaign. Trust Buruji, the ancient city of Ijebu-Ode was locked down as all the Okada riders in the city (numbering close to 1,000) all stopped work to be part of Buruji’s campaign, which started at 10.00 am and went on till 5 p.m. all over town. He gave all of them branded tee shirts and of course, some coins to get them to join. His team came for the campaign in many brand new exotic cars and Jeeps.
