Guinea Beats Mali To Pick Final Quarter-Finals Ticket

The final place of the AFCON 2015 quarter-final stage was decided by the drawing of lots as stipulated in Article 74 of the CAF regulations on the African Cup of Nations, after Guinea and Mali finished level on points, goals scored and goals conceded.

After three consecutive one all draws, an official from Mali pulled the first lot which condemned his country to third in the group while the official from Guinea drew the ball that confirmed that his country would go through in second place behind the Ivory Coast who beat Cameroon to pick up an automatic ticket.
