LAGOS Senator, YAYI Reveales How He Worked At The GUARDIAN Newspapers For 12 Years

Popular Lagos APC politician, Honourable  Solomon Olamilekan Adeola is the current House of Reps member representing Alimosho federal constituency. Popularly called YAYI by his supporters, he is to represent Lagos APC at the forthcoming Lagos senatorial elections. He is the APC candidate for Lagos West, the biggest senatorial district in Lagos and Nigeria as a whole. But not much is known about YAYI who has put in 12 solid years of legislative service starting from Lagos assembly to the Federal. We can tell you that for free.  Adeola was born into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Ayinde Adeola Ogunleye at Lagos Island maternity hospital. He spent most of the early years of his childhood in Alimosho, and it was there he began his formal education at a State primary school. He proceeded to Community Grammar School, Akowonjo, Lagos State for his secondary education. After his secondary school, he moved to Ondo State and bagged a Higher National Degree (HND) in Accounting at the prestigious Ondo State Polytechnic, now Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State. He is a distinguished Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, (ICAN).
He worked with “The Guardian Newspapers” for 12 years where he rose to the position of an Accountant. Later, he picked up a more challenging role at Olatunji Omoyeni and company, a chartered accounting firm, where he led the audit team for several years. He was later promoted to the position of a senior Auditor. Later on, the spirit of enterpreneurship beckoned to him and he floated his own company, SOOTEM Nigeria Limited, where he is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. Hon. Olamilekan began his political career with an agressive determination to serve humanity. He made his entry into elective politics and contested keenly for the House of Assembly seat of Lagos State, in year 2003. He convincingly won the seat representing Alimosho constituency 02 under the auspices of Action congress (AC). He participated and led his constituency in the struggle for the release of the Local government fund, withheld by the Federal government, in respect of the local government creation. He was in the forefront of the struggle for the release of the remaining part of the N34 billion previously held by the Federal Government. His outstanding traits of exemplary leadership and integrity ensured that he was in the Lagos State House of Assembly for two consecutive terms, from 2003 to 2007 and 2007 -2011. He thereafter contested for the Federal House of Representative, and was elected into office representing Alimosho Federal Constituency. He has served as a member of the following Committees:  •Public Accounts (Chairman);  •Aids, Loans and Debt •Management; •Emergency & Disaster Preparedness; •Land Transport; •Petroleum Resources (UpStream), among others. Hon. Adeola Solomon Olamilekan is happily married to, Temitope Adeola, and they are blessed with lovely children.
