Jimi Agbaje warns supporters against violence

The Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] in Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje has called on his supporters to eschew violence ahead of the coming General Election.
Agbaje who spoke against the backdrop of a peace pact signed by Governorship Candidates in the state, said no meaningful development can take place in an atmosphere of violence.
He noted that he was particularly happy that not a single death has been recorded since kick starting his campaign across the state.
This he reasoned was not surprising because the PDP abhors any form of violence by any person or group.
In a statement by his Directorate of Media and Publicity, Agbaje who spoke during the campaign in Mushin and Oshodi/Isolo on Monday, called on party members to continue to be law abiding.
According to him, this was the major reason he asked his loyalists not to retaliate when his campaign materials were defaced on the third Mainland Bridge by APC members.
Specifically, he stressed that he ordered that the items be left to enable Lagosians see the dictatorship of the ruling party.
“I want to let you know that there is no reason for us to be violent because whatever the form the coming election is going to take, we shall defeat them“
“Everybody has seen that we have better ideas as a party, let us continue to be peaceful because victory is ours” he said.
He blamed the absence of infrastructural facilities after sixteen years on the ruling APC in Lagos, saying the party’s performance has been far from satisfactory, as the people cannot boast of even potable water.
Agbaje, however promised to correct gaps created by the APC under his administration, but told the people that the dividends of these could only be enjoyed by the living whom he said should vote for President Goodluck Jonathan and other PDP Candidates for a secured future.
