Muna Obiekwe
For the 3rd week running, late actor Muna Obiekwe continued to drive a lot of interest online with Nigerians searching for stories relating to his burial on Google. Amid the tears and the mourning, the eulogies and the
fawning, Muna played his final role as the Departed as family, friends and Nollywood bid him adieu at his hometown of Umudioka, Anambra State.
Molade Okoya-Thomas
On monday last week, news of the passing of renowned industrialist, sports patron and business mogul, Chief Molade Alexander Okoya-Thomas filtered through the media. And as expected, Nigerians rushed to Google and
social media to confirm the story. The great philanthropist and Pro- Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU) died in Lagos of an undisclosed ailment at the age of 79.
Amber Rose
It doesn’t seem Amber Rose will be dancing anytime soon or ever with her estranged husband, Wiz Khalifa.
The #betatooed rapper recently branded the media personality “a foul creature” for allegedly trying to turn their two year-old son Sebastian against him. Matters have become increasingly acrimonious with the
couple since Rose filed for divorce last September on grounds of infidelity.
Simba Mhere
The African entertainment media scene was thrown into state of confusion on the news of the death of popular south African presenter Simba Mhere. The Top Billing presenter died in a car crash in Johannesburg while on his way to the airport. He was laid to rest at the West Park cemetery in Johannesburg on Saturday 7th Feb.
Serena Williams
After picking up her nineteenth Grand Slam title at this year’s Australian Open, Serena Williams on Wednesday announced she will be ending her 14-year boycott of the Indian Wells WTA tournament. The 2-time Indian Wells WTA champion had vowed not to play in the tournament again following the harsh reception she received from fans at the finals of the 1999 tournament due to the controversial nature of her semi-final, in which her sister, Venus Williams, withdrew rather than play Serena.
