Reports are now getting to us around 3:00pm that an explosion has occurred at the popular ASCON filling station in Lekki phase 1, just when the Lekki community is still recovering from the armed robbery attack that ravaged the community in broad daylight few weeks ago.
Eyewitnesses can’t really tell what caused the explosion, but it is so bad that the fire has spread to the Lekki roundabout along Lekki - Ikoyi link bridge. So many cars have been destroyed in the fire because people who had queued for fuel had to leave their cars and run for their dear lives. Too sad.
