The National President of the Organizations, Mr Kamaluddeen Akintunde, made the call during a press conference held at the Iwe-Irohin House in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, south west Nigeria
The body however condemned in its entirety, the xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals in South Africa
Earlier, the Katsina State Indigenes Association, Sokoto State chapter, had urged the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari to, on assumption of office re-introduce WAI.
The Chairman of the group, Alhaji Aliyu Daura, who stated this in a congratulatory message to Buhari in Sokoto on Sunday, said that the re-introduction of WAI would stop the various forms of alleged indiscipline being perpetrated across the country at the moment.
Daura who noted that corruption was “the bane of Nigeria’s socio-economic development,’’ appealed to Buhari to also strive to ensure that corruption was totally eradicated from the country.
According to him, Buhari has an “unparalleled penchant for honesty, accountability, discipline and transparency,’’ adding that his election in the March 28 polls was an indication of the tremendous confidence that Nigerians have in him to bring the desired change.
The War Against Indiscipline (WAI) was a cardinal policy of the Buhari military administration when he was Head of State from 1983 to 1985.
