The Nigerian U20 men’s football team will now travel to Germany on Saturday, May 2, sl10.ng can report.
The Flying Eagles had initially been scheduled to travel for a training camp in Germany last Wednesday, but failed to make the trip as sl10.ng revealed there had been some ‘administrative challenges’ with their travel plans.
But sl10.ng can reveal that the ‘administrative challenges’ the team had was their failure to secure entry visas into New Zealand when expected, and as a result, their trip had to be shifted.
And as it stands, the team will not travel to Germany on Saturday, where they finalize preparations for the FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand.
Whilst in Germany, they are expected to be joined by the other invitedoverseas based players, with only Chidiebere Nwakali the only overseas based player with the team at the moment.
The likes of Kelechi Iheanacho, Isaac Success, Wilfred Ndidi and Musa Yahaya are all expected to team-up with the rest of the squad in their training base in the European country.
35 players were listed in the provisional squad, but only 21 will make the final cut to the championship in Oceania.
