A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Ibrahim Saka Ominiwe, has condemned the new appointments recently announced by President Goodluck Jonathan, describing them as unpatriotic.
Reacting to the new appointments in an interview with newsmen in Ibadan yesterday, he said Jonathan had not been sincere with the appointments.
While noting that the administration of President Jonathan has less than three weeks to stay in office, he said the incoming administration will only work with those it can trust.
According to him, Jonathan has no moral justification to make new appointments three weeks to leaving office.
He wondered if the president was trying to set up a new machinery for the incoming administration of General Muhammadu Buhari.
“Having worked with these people for almost five years before sacking them, Jonathan is unpatriotic for making other appointments.
“Jonathan is setting a trap for the incoming administration by making such appointments at this point in time. He is not being sincere,” he said.
Ominiwe who called on the new appointees to reject their appointments, said such appointments would not work for them.
He added, “The new appointees, if they are patriotic, should reject their appointments. If they are sincere and qualified, the incoming government will consider them for appointments”.
“If they are not sincere, the incoming administration will reject them”.
