Zamfara Election Petitions Tribunal Commences Sittings

The Zamfara Election Petitions Tribunal had commenced sitting on the 2015 general elections.

Speaking at the inaugural sitting on Friday at High Court lV, Gusau, the Chairperson of the tribunal, Justice Grace Onyebo, said the tribunal received two petitions.

Onyebo said that the petitions were filed by the governorship candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Alhaji Sani Shinkafi and the state Chairman of the Party, Alhaji Rabi’u Bungudu, against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

She, therefore, called on the public, politicians and other stakeholders to cooperate with the tribunal in order to ensure its success.

She also called on working Journalists in the state to ensure fairness while covering the tribunal sittings and to avoid being partisan in their reports. (NAN)
