Bishop David Oyedepo has today announced a 5th service from 19th July 2015 to ease the human traffic at Sunday services in Faith Tabernacle, Canaanland. The 50,000 capacity Faith Tabernacle is the largest church auditorium in the world and with an overflow of 20,000 has begun to experience unusual growth due to the recent push to bring souls to church. With an average attendance of 70,000 per service, the Church was estimated to have an attendance of 225,000 in sunday services by independent church growth analysts by Dec 2014.
With 5 services, there will be an expected 350,000 target worshippers with 6 services as the target in the near future. The church has 24,000 home cells which she also intends to double this year. Faith Tabernacle according to the Bishop may be the most attended in the world on sundays but nothing compared to the amount of souls unsaved. “We are on a rescue mission to a dying world” he said.
There are also plans to build a 200,000 capacity auditorium in a short while from now while theWinners Highway to link Lagos to Ota as well as a private rail-line to link same is on the cards. The Bishop has said that he was told by God in April 1981 that very soon, millions will gather at the Headquarters of the ministry. He has doggedly pursued the vision till date.
