DEJI OF LAGOS IS OF THE VIEW THAT THE ABDUCTED SCHOOLGIRLS DESERVE MORE ATTENTION - 4

Good enough the Finance Minister, according to newspaper reports, disclosed that the government is planning special packages for the North-East. Nigerians want the packages to start from rescuing the schoolgirls. Let the efforts to secure the release of the girls dominate government agenda for now. I read in the newspapers some days ago, though with absolute scepticism, that some elders in the North deliberately planned the abduction of the girls with the sole aim of discrediting Jonathan’s government.

Even if that were true, we have no doubt that the President has what it takes, in all ramifications, to shame the people by ensuring the girls regain their freedom fast. For how long shall we dwell in the era of suspicion? If the government knows those so-called powerful Nigerians who are the brains behind the Boko Haram scourge, they should be exposed and brought to book so that peace can reign in our country again.
