SADE OKOYA REVIVES ELEGANZA INDUSTRIES -- ACQUIRES 34 HECTARES FOR ELEGANZA INDUSTRIAL ESTATE AT EPE!

Razak Akanni Okoya is a billionaire industrialist and Aare of Lagos. He is the owner and founder of Eleganza Group of Companies. This  popular philanthropist started the Business Empire i. e Eleganza Group many decades ago with the production of  Eleganza Jewelry, and other household products. The success of the organisation was phenomenal. These products are  best sellers in the market. They include Buttons, Coolers, Biros, e.t.c. Many of these products were exported to some neigbouring African countries.   Alhaji Razak Okoya,  and his business acumen are legendary, he brought many expatriates who are professionals in different areas to train Nigerians, while they were also permanently living in Nigeria to make the job easier. He was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award as Business Entrepreneur of Our Time by Thisday Newspaper. Somewhere along the line,  when Government policies became unfavourable to indigenous firms, Eleganza was affected, and  had to stop production.

However, City People Magazine can authoritatively reveal that Eleganza Group is  now back, better, bigger and rejuvenated. The company started production again early this year, with several new products added to its stable. Since it resumed production about 8 months ago, a lot of  improvement has been recorded by Eleganza Group. This is due to the ingenuity of the gorgeous last wife of Alhaji Rasak Okoya, Sade, the Acting Managing Director of Eleganza Group. This stylish lady has breathed new life into the Eleganza Group. Most of the products now come in flashy and eye-catchy colours, all in unique designs.

Sade has been able to prove  that she is not only a Party Queen, but with her feat at Eleganza, she has shown that she combines beauty with brains. Since the rebranding Eleganza Industries the rebranding, started production few months ago, Sade has been at the forefront, with the Chairman of the Group, her husband, Akani Rasak Okoya. Those who should know revealed to this magazine that Sade’s initiatives and her husband’s many years of  experience in the business has brought about good development in just few months of Eleganza’s comeback.

Part of this is the 34 hectares of Land at Ibeju Lekki, which is 30 minutes drive from Ajah Roundabout. It’s called “Eleganza Industrial Estate, Ibeju-Lekki, Epe Expressway.  All its factories at Oregun-Ikeja, Isolo, Alaba and Iganmu have all been turned into Showrooms. Since it resumed productions, over five thousand Nigerians and non-Nigerians, including those working in the Group’s RAO Property Investment Company, have been employed.

Sade, according to a close source, is now very busy at the Industrial City. The mother of 4 has been busy on the ongoing reviving and re-branding of the brand. She has been doing everything to make sure Eleganza Industries expands the horizon of Industrialization in Nigeria through Manufacturing, as against the importation of household products as the case used to be in the past. Today, Eleganza Industries produces a wide range of household goods utensils including cutlery, toiletories, food warmers, slippers, baby diapers, and luggage boxes. This  indigenous conglomerate today has over six showrooms all over the place,  to enable its goods get to final consumers without delay or hitch.

Alhaji Rasak Okoya’s magnificent and outlandish estate, “Oluwa Ni Shola” Estate at Lekki/Ajah Expressway, now provides shelter for the expatriates. This is because they are many, so they can get to the  factory in few minutes,  instead of hours to Epe. The Estate has uninterrupted power and water supplies, marble floors, central air-conditioning, sauna, lush gardens, billiard room, tennis court, swimming pools, expensive sculptures and lots more.

When City People crew visited the sprawling Industrial Estate in Ibeju, few weeks ago,  production was on. Over 5 trucks were seen loading various products of Eleganza Group for distribution to customers. The 34 heatres of Land was judiciously used by the management. One of the newly created sections is Chairs Department. This is one of the new products from Eleganza stead.  The chairs have over 60 models that are in unique colour  and shape. In the new factory, there are amenities like Clinic, and Food Canteen. Another new product is Eleganza Baby Diapers. The management said the product  is mother and baby friendly.

The Luggage box department, another newly introduced product is headed by an Expatriate, the boxes come in attractive feminine colours and sizes.   Another is the Cooler Department headed by a Nigerian. The coolers are produced in flashy colours colours with names that strike a chord. Names like Ele cool, Ice cube cooler, Island, and so on. . They are designs which are quite different from the regular shape of Eleganza products. There is  an instrument for testing the quality  of the products, and any that doesn’t meet  standard is destroyed immediately.
