NEW TEJUOSHO MODERN MARKET OPENS THIS WEEKEND IN LAGOS!

The popular Tejuosho Market in Yaba, Lagos, will be officially opened this weekend. The Stormberg Engineering Company, headed by the MD and the Project Director Engineer, Abiodun Oshodi gave this hint, while giving an account of the completion of the first phase of the main market. He said in his speech that projects is between his company and Lagos State government, while First Bank Nigeria Plc are the main financiers. He said the project has been on line since 2008 October. He also said that 77 companies were shortlisted before his company became the one that was chosen for the project. Engineer Abiodun Oshodi stated that the Ultra Modern Market is the best in West Africa and also the largest in the sub-region The market has 85% of which has been sold out while 15% of the lock up shops are still available for sales. The shops meant for petty traders are not available again. The First Bank team explained how the concept of the market was divided into two categories, one for the rich and the other for the poor also with a considerable mode of payment. The project facility manager of Stormberg Engineering Company, Mr. Idris Asumo also revealed that good security measures put in place in the market, which also has large car parks, that will attract some fees.

ALAAFIN SET TO HOST ORANYAN FESTIVAL 2014
Oranyan Festival, inaugurated in year 2012 by Alaafin of Oyo, and since become an annual event, is set to hold again. IJAW MUSICIAN, ROBERT EBIZIMOR TO BE GIVEN STATE BURIAL
Ijaw icon and musical maestro, King Robert Ebizimor who died on July 31st, 2014, will be given a state burial, according to the state government. Ebizimor, an indigine of Bayelsa State died in a motor crash, in Warri, Delta State, with his driver on Thursday evening. His vehicle reportedly rammed into a trailer and they died before they could be rushed to the Central Hospital, Warri, for medical attention. The music icon, who survived a cancerous attack on his leg, was scheduled to hold a “survival party” at Agalabiri town, Bayelsa State on Saturday, August 2,214. The Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson expressed deep shock, sadness and total disbelief over the news of the icon’s death. Reacting to the sad incident, Governor Dickson described King Ebizimor’s untimely death as a calamity and a monumental loss to Bayelsa State, the Ijaw nation and the people of the Niger Delta. The Governor, who was visibly disturbed over the news, recalled with absolute nostalgia, his personal relationship with the legendary and amiable singer, whom, according to the Governor, gave his all to the growth and advancement of culture  and the Ijaws nation through his songs. Governor Dickson, who appointed the late music maestro as his Special Adviser on Culture and Ijaw National Affairs, on assumption of office, noted with satisfaction, the role of King Ebizimor has played in promoting and propagating the cultural and traditional values of the Ijaw people, stressing that, his highly instructive and inspirational lyrics would be greatly missed by all true Ijaw men and women. Governor Dickson has also announced that the late Ebizimor would be given a state burial.
