The Acting Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri is the PDP gubernatorial candidate for the 11th October 2014 election in the state. Fintiri defeated 5 others with 624 votes while the current Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) came second with 197 votes. Others in the race include former Lagos/Borno military administrator, Buba Marwa who got 54 votes; Umar Ardo (member of the State Assembly), and Jerry Kumdiisi who scored 9 and 4 votes respectively.
