I’M EAGER TO RETURN TO BATTLEFIELD, SAYS OBASANJO’S SON AS HE RECOUNTS ORDEAL WITH BOKO HARAM INSURGENTS!
Lt. Col. Adeboye Obasanjo, the son of former president Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, who was shot by Boko Haram militants in Bazza, northern Adamawa State, has recounted his ordeal with the insurgents. An army engineer, Adeboye Obasanjo told family, friends and well-wishers who visited him at a Yola hospital yesterday that he was wounded in a fierce gun battle with the insurgents as against reports that he was ambushed and shot. According to Adeboye, it was a serious exchange of fire between his team and the militants that he and others were shot and wounded as it was not an ambush, but an open confrontation. He was shot in his buttocks where he sustained a minor injury but is recovering very fast and he’s in high spirits ready to return to the war zone. Should he be discharged from the hospital today, Adeboye may be flown back to his base.
