Following an earlier report that some Chibok girls were reportedly released, the Defence Director of Information, Maj Gen. Chris Olukolade has retracted the statement. Olukolade told the BBC there were girls in military custody, but not those from Chibok as originally thought.This development is coming a few days after unconfirmed reports that the Nigerian government had been negotiating a deal with Boko Haram to exchange the abducted girls for imprisoned Islamist fighters.
