LAGOS BUSINESS MAN, AKINOLA FORESYTHE IN BIGAMY MESS AS WIFE DRAGS HIM TO COURT

When Lagos-based building contractor, Akinola Foresythe met and married Sherifat (nee Agbaje) in the U.K. in the late 80s, they vowed to soldier the matrimonial journey through thick and thin. About 30 years after, the marriage seems to have hit the rocks like a badly manned ship. This is because the wife, Sherifat has taken her case to a Lagos Magistrate Court in Igbosere in order to compel Akinola to start seeing to the welfare of their 4 children and discontinue his alleged plans to marry one Isioma, his mistress who now lives with him in their Otedola Housing Estate House in Ikeja.

Sheri, City People gathered, moved out of the socialite’s home almost 7 years ago after a series of matrimonial hiccups involving the two and an allegation that Akinola, her husband had secretly fathered a child in between their marriage. That issue would later become the turning point in the marriage of Sherifat who met Akinola when she was doing Secretarial studies as a young student in England. One thing led to the other and Sherifat, who deals in sharp sand dredging and sale of building materials in Ikorodu, moved out of the house in Magodo. Those who know one or two things about the whole development said Sherifat had to quickly finish the house she was building in Ikorodu, her mother’s hometown. Her father, who hails from Akoko-Edo in Edo State was one the leading lights within the Muslim community in the town before his demise.
