SIFAX BOSS, TAIWO AFOLABI BURIES FATHER-IN-LAW + DETAILS OF THE SAGAMU PARTY

Makun, a popular area in Sagamu, Ogun State, on Friday 26th of September  played host to many VIPS, and dignitaries from all walks of life  who came for the burial of late Chief Gbadebo Sokoya, the father in-law of popular shipping Magnate, Taiwo Afolabi, fondly called Sifax. The  burial party  pulled a large crowd, attracting several who is who in the Nigerian social circle. City People was at the classy ceremony and brought reports.

MAKUN STOOD STILL FOR THE BURIAL

From an array of sophisticated cars that stormed Makun that day, one can easily tell the calibre of the event. All the roads that lead to Makun in Sagamu had banners and posters with pictures of Chief David Gbadebo Sokoya. Inside  the venue, the over 5 giant marquees had fans inside to  each of them.

SECURITY WAS WATER-TIGHT

About 30 fierce looking men were at the event to ensure the security of lives and property. They wore  black T-shirts and  they all had wild dogs. They were supported by men of State Security Service, and policemen to ensure the event was hitch free.

ORANGE EXCELLENCE ANKARA WORN BY GUESTS

The Aso-ebi for the event was orange and touch of brown Excellence Ankara which was worn by Taiwo Afolabi and his wife and other guests too.

FOLASADE AFOLABI, A PERFECT HOST

The wife of Sifax boss, Folasade was her usual down to earth  self at the event, her husband’s riches and status notwithstanding. This fair complexioned woman moved from seat to seat personally attending to their guests. Her Ankara gown sewn into a mermaid flowing gown fit her curvy body perfectly. She was ably supported by Funke Akinyera and Toyin Atobatele.

MEET PA GBADEBO SOKOYA’S CHILDREN

Late Chief David Gbadebo Sokoya would surely be happy wherever he is that he was truly celebrated.  The children were led by Mrs. Folasade Afolabi, assisted by her siblings i.e Adeniyi Sokoya, Pastor and Pastor Mrs. Olayemi, Mr. Dayi Sokoya, Princess Adetoun Olayemi and hubby. They all came with their friends from all walks of life as they bade  to their father final goodbye.

Though Mrs. Taiwo Afolabi hardly keep  friends,  she is nonetheless quite close to a couple of popular Lagos socialites, who came out to honour her. At the event, they wore  bottle Green expensive lace matched with acqua green headgear. They are;  Princess Toyin Kolade, Toyin Atobatele, Funke Akinyera, Ayo Julius, Alhaja Bello, Alhaja Folake judge, Hajia Bolanle Jaji, Mrs. Tunde Komolafe, Princess Feyikemi Egbeyemi, Mrs. Busola Osikoya, Iyabode Ninalowo, Princess Funmi Shabi, Banke Aridunu.

LAGOS BIG BOYS HONOUR SIFAX

Sifax may not be your regular associate, but he has some successful businessmen as friends, all popular within the freight forwarding business.  Among his friends who came were Tunde Akinyera, Otunba Tunde Lawal, Layi Oriowo, Akin Akingbolami, Akanni Lamex, Tayo Ayeni, Omoba Gbenga Oshinowo, Aare Rasheed Taiwo, Senator Lekan Mustapha, Engineer Omotosho, Femi Larina, Otunba Reuben Famuyibo, Gbenga Adewusi, Kenny Abdul, Bolaji Akingbile, Otunba John Tomoye, Otunba Yinka Abass, Abbey Olas, Akeem Olarenwaju, and others.

MANY NIGERIAN TERMINAL OWNERS CAME

Many Terminal owners in Nigeria stormed Sagamu to honour Sifax boss, Taiwo Afolabi. He sits atop Sifax Group which has one of the biggest terminals at Apapa Seaport and NAHCO. His pretty wife Mrs Folasade is the Chairman of Sifax Offdock. This has made her close to major terminal owners. They had their table at the VVIP section, and spent good time at the event.

LAMEX, KAYODE FARINTO LEAD CLEARING AGENTS

Many freight forwarders stormed Makun, Sagamu to honour Sifax boss, Taiwo Afolabi. He enjoys a good relationship with  his old friends, one of whom is Lamex, who came to the venue very early, and was not just an early caller, he didn’t leave until after 10 in the night. His table was strictly for NAHCO (clearing and forwarding agent). Among others seen were Kayode Farinto, Rasak Adebayo etc.

SHINA PELLER HAD NO HIDING PLACE

Popular Lagos big boy cum club owner, Shina Peller was among dignitaries at the event. His table was a Mecca of sort at the venue as many Lagos big boys took turn to exchange pleasantries with him. His benevolence was at play as he gave out wads of crispy naira notes to many.

ZENITH CLUB OF AKOWONJO CAME IN FULL FORCE

One club where the rich and mighty in the Egbeda, Iyana-Ipaja axis of Lagos belong is Zenith Club of Akowonjo. Funny enough, Sifax boss has been a member of  the club for decades,  right from when he was staying in Akowonjo, Egbeda. Members of the club were given free Aso-Ebi as invites. They were led by Kehinde Afolabi, the twin brother of Taiwo Afolabi. Their tables were adquately taken care of .

TOYIN ATOBALE DECORATED THE EVENT PLACE

Toyin Atobatele, the wife of popular Lagos big boy, Bola Atobatele, is herself a popular Lagos socialite. Her Ankara shop at Ogudu has always been the choice of those who want to pick Aso-ebi. She transformed the event with silver and orange decor. Her Wendy Event did a good job. The table cover which was silver and the dropping water fall decor gave the venue an heavenly look.

KSA AND KOLADE ONANUGA ON THE BANDSTAND

King of World beats, Sunny Ade was on the bandstand. He was there to dish out good music.  He kept guests standing for many hours as they swing to his beat. Another musician who also performed at the event was Kolade Onanuga. Guests took turn  to Spray him too.
