Political parties love to adopt celebrities for elective offices. And celebrities love to be adopted. In the run-up to the current general election in 2015, some female showbiz stars have shown interest to run for elective offices. Should they get their political party tickets, it will be another plus for the showbiz industry.
KATE HENSHAW
The multiple award-winning actress and motivator, Kate Henshaw made her intentions know quite early enough to join the race for a politcal post in the 2015 election. She’s vying for a role as an Honourable in the Federal House of Representatives for Calabar Munical/Odukpani Federal Constituency under the PDP platform. Kate, officially unveiled her campaign on the 19th of July 2014 on www.campaign.ng. She might be new to the political scence, considering the challenges of running for political office in Nigeria. However, she seems determined and her eyes remain fixed on the Calabar Municipal/Odukpani constituency slot.
KENNY SAINT BEST(KSB)
She’s handled one of Nigeria’s biggest record label as the vice president of Kennis Music so power might be nothing new to her. This female artiste, Kenny Saint Brown, with an acronym of KSB chose All Progressives Congress (APC) to run for the Lagos State House of Assembly, Ikeja Constituency 1.
FUNKE ADESIYAN
The Yoruba movie industry is not left out as popular Yoruba actress, Funke Adesiyan, is another entertainer vying for a political office in 2015. She is running for the Ibadan South-East constituency slot in the Oyo State House of Assembly on the APC platform.
MUMA GEE
Come 2015, Muma Gee will be running for Federal House of Representatives in Abua/Odua and Ahoada East LGA of Rivers State under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). On Thursday, 30th October 2014, she made her intention to represent her people known at the PDP secretariat in Rivers State where she picked her nomination form.
