SUICIDE BOMBERS KILL 64 IN MAIDUGURI

The Borno State capital, Maiduguri, was thrown into confusion, following an explosion at the Monday Market, where eyewitnesses said, many people were feared killed. This came barely 24 hours after suspected Boko Haram members disguised as traders and attacked two villages in Abadam Local Government Area, near the Nigerien border, killing not less than 50 persons. According to reports, they were two suicide bombers. The first detonated himself, killing many people. While people were scampering for safety, the other bomber detonated his own, killing yet many more. Speaking to newsmen, some civilian JTF operatives who cordoned the city for search operations said Boko Haram members gained entrance into the city disguising as victims of insurgency. At the state specialists hospital in Maiduguri, so far, 64 corpses had been brought to the hospital from the scene of the explosion. A staffer of the hospital, who did not want his name in print, said dead bodies were still being evacuated from the scene of the bomb blasts, with hundreds more who were injured.
