15 Osun Lawmakers Move To Impeach Governor Rauf Aregbesola

Following the crisis that rocked the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over screening aspirants for elective offices ,ahead the 2015 general election, some of the lawmakers in the state legislature are set for a showdown with Governor Rauf Aregbesola.Going by reports, 15 out of the 26 legislators, who had been edged out in their bid to seek a return in 2015 had already commenced compilation of list of impeachable offences against the governor. They were said to have accused Aregebesola and the newly-elected state chairman of the APC, Mr Gboyega Famodun, of allegedly manipulating the list of aspirants for the House of Assembly to the detriment of their ambition to seek re-election.Reacting to this, the APC’s director of publicity, research and strategy in Osun, Mr Kunle Oyatomi, said there was no attempt by the governor and the leadership of the party to impose any candidate.
