About 600,000 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, including two serving members of the House of Representatives, the senator representing Ebonyi North senatorial zone in the National Asembly, Chief Chris Nwankwo, 15 members of the state House of Assembly, commissioners and opinion leaders, on Wednesday, defected to the Labour Party (LP) . A renowned industrialist and chief executive of Barcelona Hotel in Abuja, Mr Edward Nkwegu has been elected the party’s governorship candidate. Other candidates who clinched the party’s tickets included Senator Chris Nwankwo, vying for Ebonyi North senatorial zone; Chief Sam Agom Eze for Ebonyi South senatorial zone and Chief Elechi Nnana Elechi for Central zone. Besides, candidates were elected to vie for the six federal constituencies in the state and the 24 state constituencies for the state House of Assembly.
