LAGOS 2015: 7 INTERESTING QUOTES FROM SENATOR MUSILIU OBANIKORO’S DECLARATION SPEECH

Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, on Tuesday, 2nd of December, made his declaration to contest the governorship office of Lagos state.Obanikor, who is running under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party, declared his intention in the presence of party faithfuls and supporters at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos. Below are 7 new things we learnt about Koro, from his speech:
(1) Cynics say don’t vote Obanikoro because he is a thug. I stand before you as the thug happily married to my high school sweet heart Mrs. Moroophat Omolola Obanikoro.
(2) Over the years, I have let detractors and naysayers especially the ACN or is it APC with their media machinery get away with spreading lies, tarnishing my record, my image and above all, my character. That time has come to an end.
(3) I recall being the 1st chairman in Nigeria to purchase WAEC forms for all students in Lagos Island Local Government in 1998. I recall being known by everyone in the local government and all expecting so much from me.
(4) They say Obanikoro is uneducated. I stand before you as an uneducated thug with a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Texas Southern University USA.
(5) They say Obanikoro is a criminal. Eyin a ra eko, I have lived all my life in Nigeria and in America for a little over 8 years and not once have I ever been arrested. Let me say this again, I have never been arrested in my life, and I do not have a record of having broken the law, either criminal or civil in Nigeria or America.
(6) I grew up in Isale – Eko as a boy born into a family of less than adequate means. Despite that, I was determined to excel. For me, failure in life wasn’t an option. If not for the opportunity provided by government then, I wouldn’t have been able to achieve any success.
(7) I am too passionate about Lagos to just seat down and allow the status quo continue to perpetuate itself. I am a true son of this soil, Lagos is where I am from, Lagos is where I grew up, Lagos is where I know, I am married to a Lagosian.
