The modelling industry shook when the news of a young, fast rising model, Tonye Mabel Sobio, was announced. Tonye, the winner of Miss Exclusive Nigeria 2013 competition, died on November 22 at the young age of 19. One of the last shows that Mabel was a part of, was the Africa Fashion and Design Week fashion show, where she modelled some of the designers’ pieces. Designers came from all over Africa held in Port Harcourt at Aztech Arcum. Some of the designers at the show include South Africa’s top designer, David Tlale and Nigeria’s David Wej, to mention a few. Mabel was also said to have gone for a show in Lagos.
