Ogun Reps Member, Rasaq Adewusi Speaks On His 2015 Reps Ambition

Honorable Rasaq Adewusi is a 3rd-term member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Yewa North/ Imeko Afon State Constituency. He won the first and second election that took him into the office under the People’s Democratic Party and he was the only member of the People’s Party of Nigeria who won the election in 2011. He is in the office presently for the 3rd time through the election he won under PPN. Last year October,  he defected back to the PDP, and also aspiring to go into the House of Representatives for the 4th time.

His constituency was one of those where primaries were not held  due to one issue or the other. When  asked his faith in the coming election, and whether he is still in the race or not, he said, “Last year 6th of December was supposed  to be our primaries, but just because one of the aspirants went ahead and doctored the delegates’  list, at the end of the day the primary did not hold, so he manipulated people and slotted his name on the INEC list, which the party is seriously looking  into so that what is necessary to be done will be done.

They know that my popularity in this area cannot be over looked, nobody can defeat me, even when it was so difficult, I am a third timer in the House. My first and second term was one the platform of the PDP; the third was PPN, I was the only PPN that won the election in 2011.  I decamped back to the PDP in October 2014, so on the 2015 election, I know that in the next few weeks  all issues will be resolved by the party, every one knows that I am the man to beat, in fact all other parties are praying that they wont give the ticket to me, because they know I will beat them flat in the race.

I am very popular and close to the people, that is why I am here today.  You don’t rule royal fathers out because politics starts from the palace, if you rule them out, you have ruled yourself out of the grassroots. If we don’t perform well, I wont win the first, second and third time, of course there is no way you can please everyone, all I know is that as far as Yewa North/ Imeko Afon Constituency is concerned, I am the only candidate to win; if an election is to be conducted tomorrow and I have my ticket, I will win.
