The governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Ekiti State,Hon. Opeyemi Bamidele, is reportedly making moves to join the All Progressives Congress (APC). Going by reports, Bamidele, a member of the House of Representatives, reportedly attended an APC meeting in Oshodi Local Government Area of Lagos State last week and announced his decision to join the party. Confirming this, a chieftain of APC in the local government, Mr. Kayode Tinubu, confirmed that Bamidele attended the party’s meeting and apologised to members for his defection from the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) to the LP. Over the weekend, Bamidele is said to have hosted the APC Deputy Chairman (South), Chief Segun Oni, at Iyin Ekiti where the issue of his joining APC was reportedly discussed.
