Cameroon army says 5 soldiers, 86 boko Haram militants killed

The Cameroonian army on Monday said five of its soldiers were killed in a series of clashes with Boko Haram in the country’s far north area.
The clashes which left 86 of the Islamist militants dead took place in the Waza region near the border with Nigeria, said Colonel Didier Badjeck, a spokesman for the Cameroonian defence ministry.
Cameroon has deployed more than 2,000 soldiers to the Far North region since August last year.
